It's not that.

It's just the way they always seem to go on about it and get bloggers to delete their links.

Downloading is doing them a favour. If I like one of their albums, I'll buy it once I've heard it for free.

This is why I'm not buying Still the Waters. I suspect I won't enjoy it but I'd rather try it for free first.

The only time I will download something first (I mean, sh*t, you can hear basically everything on YouTube first even if it is compressed beyond recognition) before buying is if I'm certain I will become a big fan of that band - and naturally buy more band related product.
