Materiale Per Tre Esecutori E Nastro Magnetico
Dedalus Jazz Rock/Fusion

Review by Mandrakeroot

2 stars MY REVIEW IS PRODUCED USING THIS RELEASE: New version with new cover and the title: Pezzi Inediti '75- '76+ Materiali Per Tre Esecutori E Nastro Magnetico Elica UPP 3220 (1999). P.s.: The improvisation at the end of track 14 is published here is an abridged version of the track published on the LP record.

RATING: 3,5/10

MUSICAL GENRE: Free (in every sense)

INTRO: Understanding Dedalus ... I do not have the first eponymous album. However, this version of 'Materiale Per Tre Esecutori E Nastro Magnetico' with 'Pezzi Inediti '75- '76' not present real music. How to judge? this is the problem.

THIS RELEASE: New version with previously unreleased songs (songs?) from '75- '76 (tracks 1- 9) and original album (10-14, but with short version of track 14). Honest production, great new cover (more modern that the original) and great booklet with story of the band (in Italian and English) and credits (also in English).

THE SONGS: Are these songs? Uhm... No. Just noise and various interventions of sax or other instruments ... I have to say more? Great idea, honest result... Today... Out of time... I say... Without sense! It is also impossible to describe something impossible to catalogue. But it is a pleasure to hear him. At least that makes sense.

CONCLUSIONS: 5 stars could be just as 1. If we use the classic parameters 2 are fine. I admit the sarcastic tone that I used but ... In a certain sense this CD is strongly recommend to the devotees of this type of experiments and of Krautrock!

(#169454)

So he says 3,5 stars but gives it 2.

The second of these groups are the Morse-fags, who eat up anything Transatlantic or Neal Morse or the AOR bands that inspired him such as Kansas did even though the songwriting and lyrics are godawful and the playing either laughable or simply uninspired. No matter how much wine these people have, they just can't get enough cheese. Again, boring insipid music for equally boring and insipid people.

And last but not least, there are the neo-proggies who worship mid 90's Pendragon and Steve Hogarth-era Marillion. Again, mentally handicapped kids who wouldn't know a good song if it bit them on the ass."

He may be being facetious rather than serious but it doesn't read well, comes off as offensive.

Kind of like your post.

Huh? there's nothing offensive about his post, he's reporting the review..

He is reviewing the Rush record "Counterparts" and says "'Dog Years' is probably the best non-single" or something. 'Dog Years' is on the following album, "Test for Echo"!

I find the language in the review of 'North Star - Extremes' by sitarjoe_2000 to be offensive.

The language is crude and sexual.

{see the line that starts with "Tom, face it..."}.

Unacceptable.

I'll say. In fact it's so offensive that excuse me if I edit that quote out of your post.
Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

Guys, except this M-word, what else offensive is he saying ? Just asking, because from I've read this twice and haven't seen anything offensive, except this. Sadly, this M-word is quite offensive. And yep, very indecent.

You know me, always trying to understand the language :-)

^ yeah, that's unacceptable, thanks for the report, I'll edit it.

P.S. for some reason the edit isn't working, I'll try again later.
