Topic: Greg Howe To Jazz Fusion Posted: September 23 2011 at 13:35 |
Greg Howe To Jazz Fusion? The one that does not know Greg Howe knows nothing about fusion guitar, I read somewhere on the internet, and I think it's quite right. Although his collaborations with many artists in different genre for example Jordan Rudess, James Muprhy, Jason Becker, Vitalij Kuprij, his brother Albert etc vary commuting between genres, his solo albums are of the best instrumental jazz fusional guitar oeuvre leaning into neoclassical, shred and technical fusion, his albums with Richie Kotzen (Tilt, Project) and his superb fusion monsterwork with Victor Wooten and Dennis Chambers are also of the very essence of the genres mentioned. If we have Hellborg, McGill, MacAlpine, Friedman, Lane etc, we can have Howe too, IMHO.

Listen into his records not some freaking youtube video. You don't want to decide on him by simply watching ONE jam guitar video, do you? Check his solo stuff and his albums with Kotzen and Chambers/Wooten for ex.

No, the proper way to make a suggestion is to post the most relevant samples yourself, not to shoot a name and then tell us to go look for the music ourselves.

Also, that was not an evaluation, that was a confirmation that that was the correct artist that you were suggesting, and I don't really appreciate your rudeness.

Nor do I. Hardly the manner in which I would ask anyone for anything, really.

Greg Howe is a shredder.
We have Tony McAlpine on this site (who is not prog), so I guess all other shredders need to be added : Vinnie Moore, Racer X and Paul Gilbert, Jason Becker, Marty Friedman, Jeff Watson...

Greg Howe's work is jazz-fusion though, and proggy at that.
