To be honest, I'm a bit surprised this band aren't on here. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a lot of information about this Polish band online. They are on rate your music but there's no real profile and thus no biography and they aren't on bandcamp either. They are mentioned on the proggnosis website though. https://www.proggnosis.com/Artist/8867 Although there is no music video for them there is a youtube video that appears to be an interview but unfortunately it's in Polish. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naxEqGi5zXM  According to Synphonic they are "symph/prog with violin and female vocals. Fantastic ." CashMERE only put out one album in 2007 and play in a rather eclectic style with violin. They sometimes remind me a bit of Magma but with Polish singing. Imo, this would be eclectic prog but I suppose it could fall into other categories but I think eclectic is the best fit.

Not that surprised it hasn't been added if much info and music samples has been hard to come by.

Here's the rateyourmusic page: https://rateyourmusic.com/artist/cashmere__pol_

The Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/cashromantic/

Note that the band website does not seem to be working (not working for me anyway): http://www.cashromantic.com

Of course there would need to be sufficient music to evaluate, but luckily CashMERE's cash-romantic.music.machine. album was made available by the band/artist on soundcloud and it sounds very interesting to me:
https://soundcloud.com/tyldaciolkosz/sets/cashmere-cash-romantic-music-machine

and here is the myspace page: https://myspace.com/cashromantic/music/songs

Interesting, Crossover would be another possibility based on some of that music. It is eclectic, some tracks more obviously prog or prog related than others to these ears. "Gajamoja" is very reminiscent of Magma, and the singer reminds me very much of Nina Hagen in "Jabbercrock" (think of the awesome "Naturträne" for instance). The first track is surely referencing Zappa. I think they basically reference different artists. One would need to able to build a decent bio methinks if considering.

Also worth mentioning that Tylda Ciołkosz, who is the main composer and the violinist (main person) of CashMERE was also in Gargantua, which is included in PA under RIO/Avant Prog. See http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=3350

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

I've not logged in here for a while, but I saw this topic and thought I'd post an English version of one of the Wayback Machine's 2016 snapshots of the website http://www.cashmeretheband.prv.pl/.

There were 47 captures of the site in total from 10th Apr 2003 - 19th May 2016.

"It is not easy to state what CashMERE is. It's no easier to state what it ISN'T. A brainchild of one deranged singer/violinist Tylda Ciolkosz, conceived with the help of bassist Mariusz "Doogie" Wroblewski and a trusty lot of their friends in music, it is a blend of sounds, ideas and moods that defies categorisation. A one-girl violin ensemble, acoustic and electric guitars, suave rhythm section and a voice that can tell as many good tales as bad jokes, Cash is a recipe for music like no other. You can call it what you like. Call it folk or call it prog, porn-groove or lala-rock. Call it pop, we will not mind. Gosh, you can even call it jazz, if you don't know any better. Compare it, contrast it, believe it or distrust it. But whatever your verdict and your reaction, Cash will go its own way and do whatever it pleases.

In the autumn of 2005, after nearly three years of making music, Cash set to work on their debut album. Aside from Tylda and Doogie, musicians who took part in the recording process include drummer Wojtek Siatkiewicz (who was a part of the project since the very beginning), guitarist Krzysiu Paletko (who was a part of the project for as long as Wojtek was), a renowned percussionist (and drummer) Slawek Berny (Grzegorz Turnau, Janusz Radek) and pianist Krzysiu Pajak. Other people who contributed to the album as guitar players were two young, talented producers Dominik Burzym and Pawel Hebda. Pawel kept vigil during the time-consuming process of recording the numerous tracks. Dominik was responsible for the recording of the drum parts and for the mixing and mastering of the material.

The final outcome of the onerous work is Cash-Romantic Music Machine, over fifty minutes of music divided into eleven songs, each of them different from the rest, all of them suiting one another perfectly. There are vaudeville songs and swinging hits, there are lazy ballads and exalted chants. There are twisted harmonies and crooked rhythms, there are easy-going choruses and charming verses. There's someone playing with fire and loudly getting burned. There's someone playing with love and quietly getting excited. And it is all for you, Dear Listeners. We've recorded it and it is now your part of the deal to listen and... like it or not.

Now that the album is finished, it is time to get back on stage. Since the very beginning CashMERE's performances won band devoted fans (and disgusted opponents). The inconsumable energy, ingenuity and a rather large dose of insanity make Cash a live act worth listening to... and worth looking at. During all the time playing live, the line-up included Wojtek Siatkiewicz (drums: Dr Zoydbergh), Krzysiu Paletko (guitar), Przemek Druzkowski (guitar: Liquid Shadow), Mirek Hady (drums: Zandarm, Que Passa) and Maciek Maka (guitar: Zandarm, Paulina Bisztyga). The band performed, among others, in the fabled Muzyczna Owczarnia in Szczawnica-Jaworki, at the Niedzica castle and in Gumowa Roza, a club in Vratislavia founded by renowned singer Martyna Jakubowicz. What will the future Cash gigs be like? Well, we might cooperate with a symphony orchestra or we might prepare an acoustic set with a banjo, upright bass and a set of trash cans substituting the drumkit. Time will tell. We only hope to play live as much as possible... and to give away as much as we can.

What else is there to say? We could go on talking for ever, but it's not the talking that it's all about. It's about the music, because music is the best. And boy, we tell you, Cash will play you music that will take you for one hell of a ride. It will caress you and appease you. It will piss you off and freak you out. It will make you laugh heartily and cry woefully. How do you deal with all this stuff? Most of all, don't fight it. Belt up, exhale and let the songs spin you around. You're bound to have fun."

There should be enough there to make a decent bio if the band is accepted. Smile

I have their one album on cd which I bought from Synphonic. I listened to it yesterday which is what inspired me to suggest them after I noticed they were absent. Judging by the album (which I highly recommend) they have their own sound even if parts are reminiscent of Magma. I really hope they get added and good job with following up and finding more information about them.

I did bring it to the Eclectic team directly.  It's a very interesting find.  I find it reminiscent of various things: Magma, Nina Hagen , Zappa, Gentle Giant, and it depends on the track, although I still have not listened to it all.  That it reminds me of different artists at different times is not at all a minus for me, and I assumed intentional.  I find it eclectic (I mean with a small e here).

I'm just happy to do my part to expose people to new music. I listened to it yesterday and thought it was really good and was surprised it wasn't on here. I'm glad someone found some sound samples. I  suppose next time I'll have to dig a little deeper if that happens. Bandcamp is great but it's not the place to find music (same thing with youtube).

CashMERE were unanimously approved by the Eclectic team. Mike, would you be able to do us a huge favour and provide a band bio for the forthcoming artist page?

It could be mentioned that Tylda Ciołkosz also has a solo project Pan Oshima.
