With some differences though.

1. 2 x CD  Self-released - WASA002 (2007, Europe)  CD + 5:1 CD with surround sound
replaced with
DVD-A + CD Self-released - WASA002 (2005, Europe, packed in a DVD case, DVD contains multichannel mix of the album in DTS 5.1)

Because 5.1 surround sound CDs don't exist (yes, SACD can contain multichannel mixes, but this set consists of DVD (audio) and 'normal' CD).

2. I'm sure 2007 double CD version was erroneously added on Discogs.
Who on earth would divide a 38-minute long album to 2 CDs? LOL

Conclusions:
1. Studio album exists only in 'DVD-Audio + CD' and 'Digital' versions (we don't know the release year of the latter).
2. Video (DVD) version on PA doesn't exist and has to be killed by almighty admins.

Agreed?

Yes, this all makes sense to me now. I had wondered why the track listing for the 2007 2CD entry on Discogs was incomplete, but as a totally non-technical person who has only ever owned standard CD and DVD players, I would never have picked up on the Progarchives DVD entry being an error. The track listing and musicians info that the DVD entry contained was spot on, so I just assumed everything else about it was good too.

Until I read your corrections and explanation above I had no idea that a dts surround disc was the same thing as DVD-Audio, and that 5.1 surround sound CDs don't exist, so apologies for getting this one completely wrong!

I therefore agree that the DVD version on PA has to be killed by admins. The digital version on Spotify is dated November 6 2009 © Wasa Express ℗ Åke Eriksson. Deezer has the same date, but Apple Music and YouTube Music both say 2006 for the year of release, so who knows lol!

E&O Team: Thanks, David. I'll ask admins to delete DVD version.
Without excessive technical details, there are 2 kinds of DVD-Audio:
1. The same as DVD-video, but usually with still images or lyrics on the screen. These discs play on all DVD players and may contain different audio mixes (DTS, Dolby Digital 5.1, PCH Stereo etc).
2. "True" DVD-Audio, containing stereo and (or) multichannel mixes in High Resolution. Such discs usually have notes on their back cover notifying that players have to support DVD-Audio format. Players, supporting DVD-Audio, in their turn, have "DVD-Audio" logo on the front panel.
If you play these discs on 'normal' DVD players only stereo sound is available.
3. There are also BluRay-audio discs (BD-Audio). In recent years many artists (usually "big" names, because they can afford it) release multichannel mixes on BD-Audio instead of DVD-Audio. Some of releases present in our database, for example, this one, but let's leave BDs for later.

CD Klanggalerie - gg111 (2005, Austria)

This is widely considered to be an unsanctioned release by ex-member Robin Storey, as the sound collective would not give their blessing for this officially.

'Music For A Spaghetti Western' was the working title for these recordings which were made in 1985/86 at 5 Wingrove Road in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

The material was never released at the time it was recorded, and remained unavailable until 2005.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note: This next album isn't on PA, and since I'm not sure whether this one was sanctioned by the band either, I'm not going to add it.

Early versions from 11th November 1984 of some the material that ultimately found its way onto the 'Music For A Spaghetti Western' album were also partially remixed and released by VOD Records in 2020 under the title "The End Of Nothing, The Beginning Of Everything".

Just for the record, the details are as follows:

1. Das Singende, Klingende Bäumchen (2:46)
2. The Monkey Is Back (2:15)
3. Radar Screen (5:08)
4. A Song Before The End Of Nothing (3:34)
5. One More Time (4:37)
6. A Song After The Beginning Of Everything (2:33)
7. Hurleburlebutz (2:54)

Total time 23:47

Vinyl LP Limited Edition Remastered  VOD Records (Vinyl-on-demand) - VOD 165.1 (2020, Germany) 300 copies with poly-lined inner sleeve.

See also this VOD Records box set which also isn't on PA: https://www.discogs.com/master/1824478-zoviet-france-Ch%C3%A2sse-2%E1%B5%89.

A boxset compiling ten releases, which were also issued separately:
The End Of Nothing, The Beginning Of Everything
Shouting At The Ground
Just An Illusion
Russian Heterodoxical Songs
Look Into Me
Shadow, Thief Of The Sun
Collusion
Vienna 1990
What Is Not True
Further Collusion

Again, I'm not going to add this boxset to PA unless it is confirmed to have been officially sanctioned by the band.

I apparently uploaded the wrong artist photo to Dolphy Kick Bebop and despite being an admin it won't change the picture when I edit the page.

Could someone do me a favour and upload this replacement for me?

Thanks David! Both entries updated, including cover arts.

About "The End Of Nothing, The Beginning Of Everything", it appears to be "essentially an edited down 'Music for a Spaghetti Western'" to quote one comment on the Discogs page. So I would be even more hesitant to add it.

Anyway, I think the is the end of the "- Name guitars - Name drums" saga, at least for studio albums. Congrats!!! Clap

Here is the part 2 of "the bands who changed their names".      Would be a nice song title? Tongue

For reference, part 1 is here.

So the new standard is New Name / ex Old Name (when applicable).

The list below contains 46 bands and has already been pre-filtered by me, but I'm not sure all of them should be changed. In fact, I guess many of them won't be changed.

If you have time and you're interested (Eugene, David...), you could look at them, thanks!

Arch / Matheos   # 6682 - changed nothing because it's a correct project name
Autograph (Avtograf)   # 2335 - both names are correct
Aviva (Aviva Omnibus)   # 2951 - both names are correct
Black Forest / Black Sea   # 7752 - changed nothing because it's a correct band name
Blue Effect (Modrý Efekt)   # 1493 - both names are correct
Danisco (For Beauty)   # 6518 - changed nothing because it's a correct band name
Della Terra (Aegis Integer)   # 3667
Dialogue (Dawn Dialogue)   # 3024 -  both names are correct
Didier Bonin (Didbo)   # 11532 - both names are correct
Edgar (Animo)   # 7873 - changed nothing because it's a correct band name
Engel (Miguel Angel de la Llave Jimenez)   # 7232 - changed nothing because it's a correct artist name
Engrama / [engrama]   # 6510 - both names are correct
Favni (Fauns)   # 7270
Genetics (Dianetics)   # 9410
Genshi-Kyodotai (Primitive Community)   # 7376 - both names are correct
Gnohgnuhgnlus (Dolulus)   # 8970
Jaugernaut (a.d.)   # 1765 - decided to change nothing
Jean-Paul Prat / Masal   # 3232 - both names are correct
Kakusenjo No Ongaku (Base Of Fiction)   # 7858 - both names are correct
Korpus 2 (Корпус 2)   # 8725 - both names are correct
Lis Er Stille (Liserstille)   # 3784
Maroon(ed)   # 10984 - changed nothing because it's a correct band name
Midnight Sun (Rainbow Band)   # 2531
Mini (Török Ádám & Mini)   # 6692 - both names are correct
Moe! Staiano/Moe!kestra!   # 5217 - both names are correct, added only whitespaces: Moe! Staiano / Moe!kestra!
Obligod (ex- Fox Territory)   # 10828
Omit (Clinton Williams)   # 2545 - changed nothing because it's a correct band (project) name
Paganotti/Paga Group   # 3381 - changed to Paga (Paga Group)
Pesniary (Pesnyary)   # 2284  - both names are correct
PVT (Pivot)   # 3087
Quaterna Requiem (Wiermann & Vogel)   # 294 -  both names are correct
Rabbit Rabbit (Carla Kihlstedt & Matthias Bossi)   # 9000 - changed nothing
Rada & Ternovnik (the Blackthorn)   # 7327 - changed to Rada & Ternovnik (Rada & Blackthorn)
Realm/ Steve Vail   # 5799 - changed to Realm (Steve Vail)
Rhapsody (of Fire)   # 1268 - changed nothing because 'Rhapsody of Fire / ex Rhapsody' would be rather confusing
RISE (Talitha Rise)   # 10907 - changed nothing
SAM (Slick Alexius Mennigmann)   # 8389 - changed nothing
Spriguns (Of Tolgus)   # 2228 - changed nothing
Stern-Combo Meissen (Stern Meissen)   # 994 - both names are correct
Tesserakt/Tesseraktus   # 5003 - changed to Tesserakt
The Fowler Brothers (Air Pocket)   # 6726 - changed nothing
Two Siberians (Белый Острог / White Fort)   # 1532 - all names are correct
Velvet Opera (Elmer Gantry's)   # 2503 - changed nothing
Verde (Mika Rintala)   # 4716 - changed nothing because it's a correct band (project) name
Werwolf (Werewolf Art Rock)   # 1541 - changed nothing
Yasutaka Tsutsui / Kohsuke Ichihara / Masahiko Satoh   # 6906 - changed nothing because only Keishiro may sort all these Masahiko Satoh projects: onetwothree, ... Let's leave it as is.

That's all for now... Wink

^ Thanks, David.
I'll check your list and edit it in your post. I don't have much time for this, but it's not that urgent. So sooner or later we'll finish it.
Some bands are already familiar, I'll mark them right now.

For the record, you can remove Black Forest / Black Sea from the list, as that's the literal band name, and they've never changed it.

Similarly, Verde and Omit don't need to be on there as they've never changed names nor have their sole members recorded anything under their given names, which for some reason are listed in parenthesis beside their monikers.

^ Thanks Prog Network, volumes 1-2-3 (so to speak) are done.

But I'm confused with Official Bootleg Live 2012, and it's not your fault. How can a "Live 2012" album can be recorded in 2013 ?!? Wacko

I will try to investigate and understand... after all, my user name is projeKct !

Thanks for pointing that out! Smile

I incorrectly assumed that the album "The Crimson ProjeKct: Official Bootleg Live 2012" was compiled from the "The Crimson Projekct: Official Bootleg Limited Edition" albums since it stated that it was taken from 3 shows, similar to how there are 3 "The Crimson Projekct: Official Bootleg Limited Edition" albums.

Therefore, just remove...
