just my opinion. I think Ripples is superb. Follow You, Follow Me is cute little pop song, I like it more than YOSW.

In That Quiet Earth
That track gives me tingles. |

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

I love this album! 'Blood on the Rooftops' has a special place in my heart, of ALL songs in the world actually.

I concur. Ripples is in a different league to YOSW, mind you my memories of it are tainted by Nicky Horne. If anyone here remembers his album chart rundown on Capital Radio at the time. Every week he did the chart and W&W was in it he only ever played YOSW.

YOSW is weak by Genesis standards at that time, but it can't be compared to Ripples, which is a classic, and a song with a completely different feel to YOSW.
That said, YOSW is still leagues ahead of Misunderstanding, which I think is among the weakest songs they ever recorded. When I first heard it as an 11 year old it made me yawn for 3 mins, and it still does, practically to the point of jaw dislocation. Awful bloody, plodding drivel. |

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I will never forget that moment when - on the Invisible Touch tour - they launched into 'Unquiet Slumbers/Quiet Earth' - made it all worthwhile (the dreaded Blues Bros medley was yet to come...)

One for the Vine... I thought that one should have been the obvious winner. I haven't really been able to warm up to Blood on the Rooftops.

I voted for "...in that quiet earth", but would have voted for "Inside and Out" if it had only been included on the album in place of "Your Own Special Way".

That's a tough choice, but I'm going with Afterglow.
