The title track to that album is an absolute monster of greatness, with Dio going full-out not only singing-wise but in terms of his archetypal head-scratching lyrics as well.

"You can release yourself but the only way is DOOWWN!!"

^Yep, and it balances nicely between the grandiose and the fasty, punchy rock.  I think the writing and the playing are both equal or better than HD and the album feels more realized somehow.

I saw these tours back in the day, Dio was so awesome with Viv Campbell.

If was such an odd choice for Viv as a first solo record, almost a Blues parody, that Gary Moore influence coming through.

Haven't heard that David but I'm curious now.

Any fans of Dream Evil?  Never had that one and am thinking about buying it.

^ Check the youtube files before you buy, it is very unlike his beautiful hard rock days, and the solo work is almost negligible.   I think his most thrilling work was with Sweet Savage, but I guess you can't go backward.

Dio's best vocal performance was definitely in Holy Diver, but the best record ever made with Dio at the helm is prolly Rising. Gotta go with Holy Diver cause it's the underdog right now

'Mob Rules' - I can't explain why, but this album KILLS 'Heaven And Hell' for me. And better than any Rainbow or Dio album at that
