LOL
I've never asked you why there are 25 artists in the poll.

I am not suggesting anything. You don't need to make things "suit" me. I've never asked anyone for that and i never will.

I'm looking forward to it too, although I have a feeling I won't know many of the modern prog albums in your poll. Smile

Do you know any post-2010 albums?
Yes I do, but they're mostly albums by Mostly Autumn. Smile

Let's suppose I ran this as an albums poll instead. How do I decide which album to choose for each of the 25 artists?

OK. Here's what I would do to make it a bit interesting, since polls with these bands have been done since forever.
- my favorite from these bands, especially when I know it's not everyone else's favorite LOL
- the albums I find underrated, overlooked or underappreciated from these bands.
- the controversial ones from each bands, but it's kinda looking for trouble
- the important, groundbreaking album from each band.

A lot of things can be done...Smile

^ Okay, thanks for your input. In that case, I'll rerun the poll with the same list of artists featuring the first album by each artist, which I'm pretty sure King Crimson will win easily. Smile

Interesting point.
Anderson's Scottish (I think), Fruupp are Irish, Mercury of Queen's Indian by birth... hm.
Great bands, though, all of 'em.

I guess it depends how you define a "British" band. If Fruup are Irish then technically they're not British (they're UK). Mercury was actually born in Africa (Zanzibar) to Indian parents.

Fruupp are technically British because they're from Belfast in Northern Ireland and N.I. is part of the United Kingdom and also part of the British Isles. Smile

I've never thought of Queen as a Zanzibarian band before. Tongue

Ah right, I assumed you meant Great Britain. This whole British, UK thing is mad, try explaining it to a non-British person.

It's difficult enough explaining to some Americans, the difference between England and Scotland. I've spoken to some who think the latter is part of the former, and hadn't heard of Wales, but had heard of New South Wales! It is quite ridiculous.

Scotland and Wales may not be part of the United Kingdom for much longer if the Scottish and Welsh nationalists get their way.

And the possibility of an Irish reunification.

Yes, and to confuse things even further, the island of Great Britain doesn't include Northern Ireland, even though Protestants in Northern Ireland are regarded as British. Smile

It might be easier to choose when I make it an albums poll (at Cristi's suggestion) with the same list of artists. Smile

Okay, I'm not going to get into an argument over whether it was a suggestion or not. LOL
