Maybe I should remedy that. As of yet I have no real vote.

For me, there are many songs I love much better live. Steve Hackett and Phil Collins are on fire live, and give an extra punch to the songs. And in the case of Gabriel, I find him less annoying live than on studio.

Yes. Well Three Sides Live anyway.
It's a pretty damn good live album. Is it better than the first two lives albums? I would say no because the songs represented on those earlier live albums are just too good but I can still see some voting for it

My personal ranking of all Genesis albums starts with
(1) Live
(2) Seconds Out.
When I got Live, by the way, I had no idea that Supper's Ready was part of the set and somehow missing, so it was never a reason to complain. It's a mightily good album as it is. I don't normally complain about an album that I like that it's not a double album.

1) Live ( which I wish it were a double LP)
The 2 gigs which gave birth to Genesis Live were Free Trade Hall in Manchester 2/24/73 and De Montford Hall Leicester 2/25/73.
The set lists :
Watcher/Musical box/Get'em/Supper/Hogweed/Knife
2) Seconds Out ( for its galactical 2nd CD)

I'm not a fan of Genesis live albums. I have a problem with Tony Banks. he is in my opinion really disappointing live

^Agreed, which is why I don't understand how he can top Emerson in a keyboard poll here on PA.
I think I read or heard that he actually considers himself to be more of a 'fill' player than a lead.
Thank you for supporting independently produced music

take for example the live version of "Supper's Ready" from "Seconds Out". during the "Apocalypse in 9/8" section you could go really wild on the keyboards and improvise like hell while quoting key passages from the studio solo. but Banks plays the studio solo note for note. how boring! that's what I call "noodling"

^ I don't have so much of a problem if the parts are played faithfully live... though indeed I might have less incentive to like it better. Yet with Genesis they may not go wild improvising and jamming, still I often find they play just a bit heavier and stronger, Collins in particular I like better in the live versions, and even Gabriel. I have never been much of a fan of Grabriel's vocals and his theatrics, but I feel while singing live he has to concentrate more in singing and tones down the theatrics (singing wise, I mean, I know his visual theatrics on stage were another thing).
