From the list my favourite two are Echoes and Gates Of Delirium.
I'd usually take Echoes based on the studio versions, however if the Yesshows version of Gates is considered that would sway things in that direction. That is truly awesome.

Typical proggies, always voting Genesis...
Honestly, Supper's Ready is one of the most boring 20+ songs
Can I suggest Focus' song Eruption should be here?
Anyhow I vote for Echoes.

I do not vote Genesis because I'm proggie, I became proggie because I like Genesis. So I vote Genesis because I like them and not because I'm proggie. Supper's Ready is superb and far better than almost all (or maybe all) the others 20+ minutes tracks I`ve listened. |
Well I can't argue with subjective logic

From this list, Thick As a Brick. But tomorrow it may be another one...

Have you heard the Gates version from Yes Symphonic live DVD?, that's just awsome. And then theres Gilmour's version of Echoes from "Remember that Night", more powerful and the solos better played (though the comeback to music after the screaming guitars is still better on the original version). If you haven't heard this versions then you must get them (oh, by the way, both are available on CD too).

Gilmour's version on Gdansk is even better

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

^ Well, it's just about the same, or at least I wasn't able to find too much of a diference when I tried to compare them. I think there's a bit of the distinctive sound of Wright's Farsian (or whatever the name of his old keyboard is) on the Gdansk version.

Every track in list is great, very difficult but my vote went to Super's Ready.

What's wrong with Tales 3? The Ancient with that lovely acoustic piece Leaves of Green? I wonder if that was ever a quiet pun on Greensleeves?

Zeuhl
The genre is a mixture of musical genres like Neoclassicism, Romanticism, Modernism and Fusion. Common elements: oppressive or discipline-conveying feel, marching themes, throbbing bass, an ethereal piano or Rhodes piano, and brass instruments.
Lyrics sung in a non-existent language, mixture of genres, powerful brass....doesn't it apply to Atom Heart Mother ?
Of course I'm joking, but it's a thought that crossed my mind when I woke up this morning....

Atom Heart Mother with marching rhythms and disciplined feel? Hehe Ron Geesin did say he should have moved the bar lines over by one beat to make sure the orchestration would be on the same page as the Floyd. But he did it all... bar by bar. On the score that is, not on a pub crawl... Yep, made me laugh. I had been just re-reading some comments from RW and DG about how they thought it was so awful. Thankfully I like Zeuhl and Atom Heart Mother.

No doubts about your love for Zeuhl, from your nickname . I'm supporting Ron Geesin's inclusion on PA, but the poll is sticking since months...
