Come off it, just because something isn't to your taste doesn't mean it's dull!  There must be something to them since they're one of my favourite bands and "normal" symphonic prog is not something I'll give a second listen to generally!

Abacab was uninspiring and dull, but I can't name a single album while they had Gabriel that was dull or uninspiring, though I have been a Genesis fan for 11 years...

Mnemosyne is fully right, except that you need to add the obligatory "to me" to his statement.

Musical taste is something fully personal, and even in the specialized subgenre of progrock, there is (I think) no-one who loves all the recognised masterpieces.

I love these Genesis albums (SEBTP is my absolute all-time favcourite CD in any pop/rock genre), but I fully understand that others will have a different opinion. Just like I don't see what's so special about ELP, King Crimson or Jethro Tull.

You related Gentle Giant, to 1337 chat. I hope you die, as you are not worthy to hear GG.

And what, you probably only listened to them ONE time, man you don't deserve to hear this music. It takes time to get use to, and when it does its like YES HOT.

Anyway, to Hell with this thread, its creator and everyone who has responded. There is no value here at all. Ronnie is out of here!

Just wondering though...  King Of Loss, do *you* have anything to do with this Zooka douche?  You two seem quite familiar with one another.

I am on Zooka and Trouserpress' side here.  Both of those albums to me are completely inconsistent and average.  I know that Genesis is an influential and big name in prog, but it doesn't mean their music is brilliant.  The only really good song they have to me is Firth of Fifth, that song is so cool compared to any other songs on both albums that it was probably an accident.  Try to convince me that anything on these albums are amazing.
