This band released their debut album early last year, but only recently came to my attention. Starting off as one-man almost academical research of Southern Portugal musical traditions, it evolved into a musical collective during 2014 and 2015.
It is very much a folk album (the eerie and dark kind that sets most Portuguese folk, with it's almost Wyrd-like qualities, apart from it's Spanish cousins), but is presented with modern sonority and more complex song construction, the same recipe followed by so many Prog-Folk groups around the globe. The mixing and mastering of the album by former Banda do Casaco alumni Tó Pinheiro da Silva might have something to do with it, too. The band has made the debut album available for listen on Bandcamp and on YouTube, and I leave it here for your evaluation: Tracklist:
