Which of these two key-broad leaded albums do you enjoy the most?

Don´t like Triumvirat at all, Brain Salad is not also my biggest faves, but it has some really great moments (for example Jerusalem).

ELP - BSS No contest. Don't get me wrong...I love T-Rat, since 1972 when I stumbled upon their debut at a record store at the tender age of 14. But I've always seen them as ELP Lite. Spartacus is Trilogy Lite at best.

For me Spartacus is neither as good as Brain Salad Surgery nor Ilusions on a Double Dimple.

I like Triumvirat, but they can't beat the original...

Not a bad pairing, but Spartacus is a tad iffy, so 'Salad'.

BSS is my favourite album.
I really hated Spartacus when I first heard it but it does have some good moments even if Jurgen is trying so hard to be his hero it's almost painful. Illusion on a Double Dimple was much better. Parodoxically , although trying to be ELP style wise it remains original and inventive. I just feel that parts of Tarkus have been lifted and chucked into a lame retelling of the great slave revolt story. nb- Partick Moraz was probably the best Emerson 'imitator' by several country miles. Such a shame that Refugee only got one album out.

I used to have Spartacus decades ago, but I never thought much of it. I used to have quite a few Triumvirat LP’s - I only hung on to Mediterranean Tales and Illusions......
I still have all my ELP. So, BSS it is. |
