Which shall it be, the happy Clap or moodier Mood for a Day? I'm completely torn myself.

It's actually supposed to be called "Clap" not "The Clap", but I voted for it anyway.

Also you've missed "Solitaire" from "Fly From Here" which is quite nice as well.

^I did say from '71 but, yes, I like Solitaire in both meanings of the word.

Mood for a Day.

Actually used as the name of the playlist of songs on my iPod. Changes with the mood, seasons, driving route, etc.
Welcome to the middle of the film.

They both actually orginated from the same piece. Steve Howe decided to save the "mood for a  day" portion(which he later reworked and developed) for a  later album(Fragile). Anyway, probably "mood for a day" for me but I like both.

This is a song called Clap.
Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

I should have predicted this. Clap is a happy tune... but us moody, depressed prog fans who enjoy moody, depressed albums like Wish You Were Here and moody, depressed bands like the Moody Blues will always choose the moodier, more depressed option, moody Mood for a Day. LOL

It's called Clap, not The Clap, which sounds like a dubious disease.

I blame Jon Anderson, I believe on The Yes Album he does actually say "this is a song called The Clap" and it's printed as that on the cover, so you're off the hook. Wink

I voted for the more upbeat Clap despite the fact it sounds like it was recorded in a culvert. I have known several people who could play Mood for a Day, a great tune, but never anyone who even tried to play Clap. There is some incredible picking going on there.
