The weeks flow by as quickly as the Hudson River on heat, and, thus, we have the next instalment of Lazland On Progzilla Radio tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 16:00 UK GMT.
We have fine music from Harvest, Damian Wilson & Adam Wakeman, Marillion, Peter Gabriel, Edison's Children, Knight Area, Mike Oldfield, Nova Cascade, Karda Estra, Paul Sadler, Actionfredag, IQ, and Radiohead. Be there, or be decidedly square! www.progzilla.com |

Grackle's music I've only had a very quick listen to so far, but with Steve Katsikas of Little Atlas and Greyfeather involved, it has to be worth checking out more thoroughly (Greyfeather aren't here either, but were suggested by Mayer (mbzr48) - well, sort of lol! - back in November 2019. That's just one of quite a number of suggestions that he made at around that time which, quite understandably in all fairness, never went anywhere). Both of these bands (and also Greyfeather, most likely) are worth a shot in Crossover imho, so it looks like I've got some work to do over the coming days...

Thanks David. Yes, today will be a fantastic show, he says begging himself up shamelessly, but there is some great music out there. Prog Archives has an extremely important role to play in the prog world as an encyclopaedia, and the trouble is, as you say, if the site is unable to keep up with new artists, it’s value diminishes, although in the site’s defence, I will say that there have never been as many recording artists as there are now. I recall a retired admins disdain of “Bandcramp” as he put it, but Bandcamp is absolutely the platform for modern recording artists in our world, and keeping abreast of that is important. As a SC, you would be welcome to use reviews and samples that I have used in my website’s reviews. I am not precious, and do still support PA, although I might add here that the Byzantine structure you have does not help matters. My advice would be to streamline, both sub-genres, and certainly the addition process.

^ That's potentially a great playlist right there. I'll have to listen to the podcast of this show for sure to see which tracks from these artists you've selected.
It's becoming increasingly obvious to me that we're not keeping up with the profusion of new prog artists that have arisen on the scene lately here at PA. Amanda Chaudbury (Eclectic Prog maybe?) and Aliènor (Prog Folk?) from this playlist, and I can recall Wedingoth (Prog Metal?) and Michal Wojtas (Crossover Prog?) of Amarok whose albums were reviewed on the site a while back too. Doubtless there have been many others too, if I was to spend some time looking back. I'm going to create a separate topic about this situation in the 'Help us improve the site' section, where we could discuss if there might be anything we can do to improve matters.

The first tranche of the 2024 Lazland awards is now published! More to follow, but I am doing this because of silly FB "spam" issues in the past.
We have at https://lazland.org/lazland-awards-2024 nine initial awards, a celebration of a wonderful year of music. On the album cover, you will find underneath the award given, and when you enter the artist's hallowed hall, you can listen to the winning track!

There are some people living in the deep forests of Borneo who apparently weren't able to listen to Lazland on Progzilla Radio owing to a broadband outage. Whilst this is a serious shame, the wonders of the technology put in place by the gorgeously sexy management at the station means that they can catch up and download the latest episode as a podcast! Yes, really!
All you need to do is head over to https://progzilla.com/category/podcast/lazland/ and orf you jolly well go! Why would you want to miss it?
