I think, it would be nice to put some more focus on the 1970s' lesser known, non-UK Prog Rock beauties,
and multiple voting is possible and very welcomed.

I've voted for all your favourites, as I forgot to allow the multiple voting to begin with.

There's no need for multiple voting for me as I only know Clearlight's album. Embarrassed

Hi,

ANGE belongs in a completely different setting to these bands. They were very "theatrical" which came from the Brecht/Weill cabaret styled thing, and then was also visible via Jacques Brel, also a theatrical singer. The rest of the listing (other than CLEARLIGHT) would be considered a lot less valuable, as a performer, when compared to the these.

ANGE's first 6 or 7 albums are a must have and specially TOME 6 ... a live album. The sad thing is that no clean videos of the early days seem to have come through well, and often sound terrible, but when yo hear TOME 6, you immediately go ... this band is excellent, and knows how to put on a show.

Missing in this listing, is ALAN STIVELL that many of us can't handle. The material is very political, and not something that progressive folks like. We prefer the fairies and the weird and the "out there" that none of us can reach ... but the band being from the Brittany area (NW France if I am not mistaken) ... has some really far out material that deserves a listen. However, when you hear "Before Landing" you will understand right away the intense dislike, and the history of the folks in the area. It's a wonder it is not an independent country ...

CLEARLIGHT was to become a part of the "new age" thing, and while the material was nice, I thought it was too artistic to be considered "New Age". Very nice stuff, but within this poll both them and ANGE would likely be the more recognizable.

I'm not sure about PULSAR or how it was missed. MAGMA would likely rip this poll apart!

Some good comments, Mosh, and have a better look at the thread title and the OP, then you might be less suprised. Wink

Of these, I only know L’Araignee-mal. I've many of these in my list to check. So, my vote goes only to Atoll.

I must admit I don't know some of these, but I love Campo Di Marte, so it gets my vote.

So this one may show to be better known on PA than I imagined.

The first three (Ange, Atoll, and Atila) are all BIG winners for me!

Hi,

Gee, quoting yourself, it seems the OP is not very clear, since that (1) does not explain its placement, or idea.
