Topic: Most asinine comment Posted: November 03 2006 at 08:38 |
What is the most asinine comment you've ever heard/made
Made: outlawing abortions is like saying women can't have periods...
Heard: Syd Barret's Scarecrow was inspired by the wizard of oz (which came out later...)

Calm down! Are you seeing how many threads you can start in the shortest time?

No, I sat down last night and thought of a bunch of threads, and wrote them down. I had about ten more that I won't be posting because they're bad.

I guess some people have too much time on their hands...
would a "get a life" comment be inappropriate ?

I did, however, have some problems at one point... the computer thought I was spamming.

Heard (on a tran): "I saw my gran over the weekend. Well, I call her my gran, but she's not really - she's my mother's mother."

I was at the Eden project and before you get to the domes which hold the jungle area and meditteranean hot one you go down a hill which is surrounded by more interesting plantlife; the path curves around so you can see all the plants.
In Northern accents: Son- "Can't the path lead straight to the domes?" the father takes him to one side and replies
Father-"No son, cos the hills too steep"

The Wizard of Oz film came out in 1939, 7 years before Syd was born.

This may be an urban myth, but an American tourist supposedly said of Windsor Castle "it's nice but why did they build it so near the airport?"

When my wife and I were on a tour bus in Italy, with other Americans, we sat in stunned silence as the following was spoken by a woman behind us:
"You know, I was in Germany recently, and they had the word 'Deutsch' everywhere. 'Deutsch' this and 'Deutsch' that. I wonder what that word means in English."

And there I made an asinine comment... but Syd still didn't write scarecrow for it...

A friend of my Gran once said, when asked why she was driving so fast: "I'm low on petrol and I want to get home before I run out".

Heard: at "Altazor awards" (Chilean tribute to Chilean artists), the presenter, a girl called Patricia Larraín, was announcing the "Best national opera production" award. The winner was a production of "Carmina Burana". She started inmediatey requesting for Miss Carmina Burana to get to the stage and receive the award. She kept going: "¿Miss Burana?... ¿is she here, or someone will receive the award for her?"
