Hey,
 
My favorite bands range fro Rush to Pink Floys to Dream theater....i like LTE alot as well as petruccis solo albums.  Huge fan of Portnoy as well as Petrucci....Rudess obviously is a favorite...But i also like the older origonal bands like Rush and Pink Floyd....any suggestions for new bands to listen to?

If you are into Pink Floyd you have two options.
 
Early Floyd: psychedelic stuff such as Love, Iron Butterfly etc.
Waters Lead era Floyd: Porcupine Tree, Sweet Smoke

I think Genesis is a great band to listen to.  Maybe you have a friend that would be more than happy to share their music with you.

If you like Pink Floyd, I shall advise you to try Eloy, Porcupine Tree, Hawkwind and Ozric Tentacles.
