IMO 'Wish You Were Here' should be bumber two behind CTTE in the prog archives chart but what do you think?

Yeah, but it won't be for long. Besides, we all know CTTE is the best prog album of all time!

While I reckon WYWH is 'Floyds best work, it comes nowhere near SEBTP!

I just think Genesis is a much better band all around than PF and Yes.

I still don't understand why Selling England is above Foxtrot, though!

Selling England is miles upon miles in front of Wish You Were Here, probably the most overrated album in the top ten. Animals is ways better, I've always considered Wish You Were Here to be extremely weak for an album of that stature. Selling England on the other hand is excellent and I enjoy listening to it a lot.

On SELLING ENGLAND production is much better, all the musicians play better, and PG sings better. And oh, it's also got better tunes than FOXTROT!

FOXTROT's strongest points, in my view, are the triumphant climax of "Supper's Ready", which Genesis never equalled, and the dark mood of menace, so typical of early Genesis, which disappeared after this album.

As much as I love WYWH, SEBTP would be my desert island choice.

No,  I'd rather see Zeuhl albums take the top two spots (or many other albums).

When you say better, do you mean better for me (as in subjective response), or an objective response? Or both?

Love Wish You Were Here and at least half of SEbtP.  As better is largely in the ear of the behearer (there are criteria one can follow to judge), I can't really objectively say.  I do find Wish You Were Here much more consistent.
Just a fanboy passin' through.

Wish You Were Here is spacial perfection, if space is what you want. Selling England By The Pound is great also, but isn't quite the epitome of it's genre, while Wish You Were Here is.

I don't want it to be #2, but I like it more than SEBTP, which I think is overrated. I much prefer Foxtrot and The Lamb both of which I think would be worthy to be #2. But anyway, WYWH.
