Confused Whao I don't how it happened but it.!! I am a prog-metal Fan!!! from a hardcore 70's prog/fusion/jazz fan to prog-metal.!! Embarrassed and I hate Mainstream Metal Bands.

any way the subject is to select the best prog-metal vocalist and why?

I am a big Tool and Maynard has always been my fav vocalist from this kind of music, However I have been listening to Symphony discography ( avery underrated band here!!) lately and Russell Allen slowly, but shortly is becoming my favorite vocalist for the several reasons:

He can sing:

extremely hard and harsh like mikael from (Opeth)

beautifully soft and calm as (Steve Wilson and Phil Collins)

and extremely powerful as (Maynard and Peter Gabriel)

and he is never annoying  even when he scream as we all know who that is!
He is awesome,!!!
and your? and Why?

Also all those vocalist on the list are extremly good so it was a hard choice to make.Confused

... you could go back and edit your first post, then replace one of the "0" vote dudes (e.g. Jim The Cheese Wink) with Sir Russell, then we could vote for him.

A tough decision between Maynard, Daniel and Mikael.

Still, it has to be Akerfeldt.

Truly excellent, masterful vocal performances by him. He's got a beautiful clean voice and death-metal vocals superior to most. Actually, in my oppinion, his singing-voice is superior to all others (all that I have come to hear).

Can't understand exactly who's Jim either...ConfusedTongue, but I recon it's just a name for an odd man out.
I would remove from these choices Alex Katsiyannis's name and replace it with Russell's.

Jim, or Jimi, or Jimmy, is a shortened version of the name James - for example, someone born with the name James Patrick Page would be known to his friends and family as Jimmy.
What?
