Just wondered if the band Coil had been suggested for inclusion before?
Could be a candidate for Progressive Electronic? Anyone familiar? |

Here is a link to a prior discussion regarding Coil, including a link to some samples. http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=57879&PID=3527811#3527811

It sounds great. If they belong, I'd say
Ape of Naples is excellent. Edited by Tsevir Leirbag - January 30 2010 at 14:50 |

On 'guts of darkness' a website dedicated to experimental and dark music and the most OPEN-MINDED site I know, some of their albums are tagged as "moon musick". They don't tag any of their albums prog (prog is also represented on this website).

From the samples, I'd agree with you. I would think they belong though. |

I listened to it more.
I think they would be a good addition for Eclectic.

I would support their addition. Categorizing them would be tough though. I'd say Progressive Electronic, even though their music isn't always 100% electronic. I think they'd fit the bill for Prog Related too, but the only bands they seem to add there are 70s hard rock bands. I don't know if they bear enough similarity with classic Prog to be considered for eclectic, though.

More importantly, I don't find music that tells me that it is sufficiently a hybrid of musical styles that crosses various Prog categories. I listened to some music, not enough, but so far I don't see this as fitting the Eclectic Prog definition (not sure about Prog either). Seems more of an industrial band, and I don't see it fitting Progressive Electronic either based on what I've heard.
