I stand by all my previous assertions, "epic" is a term thrown around far too often by ignorami

Interesting that you would stand by previous assessments that you won't bother to defend.

Also, if that was a veiled attempt at calling me stupid, A) you're wrong and B) have a little class, eh?

Can't believe so many people are voting for Saucerful...I always thought it was a tuneless amalgamation of noise.  Maybe I should listen to it again.

It's a sort of symphony in three movements. Try the version from the Pompeii DVD.Wink

Just thought I'd mention, if it has not been mentioned before, Set The Controls For The Heart Of TheSun was usually performed at more than 10 mins and if one can have Interstellar Overdrive. and why not indeed! one should have this. To me this piece defines this era of PF more than any other.

Set The Controls on Ummagumma is faded half way through (this album really needs a re thought by PF.) I know it's one of the great live albums but it's still not good enough. With CD and DVD tecnology we could and should have a proper Ummagumma era live album. And if you see DG, RW, or NM you can quote me!Big smile

I have no idea which to vote. I assume Narrow Way and Sysyphus are there because PF performed them live not that we are officially supposed to know that unless we were there at 1969 and 1970 concerts. Not easy for me.Wink

As a slight matter of irrelevance/ irreverence DSOTM was performed as Eclipse, a single piece that is merely indexed. Wonder if that counts?

If "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" were listed as one song, I might vote for that one because it is, in my opinion, their best song ever; but my all-time personal favorite by them is the Atom Heart Mother suite, so I'll give that one my vote here.
