After searching for/reading through some old threads on PA, I started to wonder about all the stalwarts of the forum/site that no longer come around these parts.
People like: Cesar Inca Harmonium.ro Chamberry Finnforest Negoba The Miracle The Progtologist Padraic Gatot Easy Livin The Hemullen James Lee Joren Avestin The Bearded Bard Laplace And many others that I'm forgetting. Anyone have any news about these folks, or others that you remember from the days of yore? I know there are alot more options to keep in touch with people these days, whether it be social media, other forums, satanic whorehouses, email/text/phone, etc. And just to specify, I'm more curious how these people are in general, and especially after this past year, are they still alive? Do they still listen to prog? Do they seem happy? Things of this nature, as opposed to things like why they don't come around that often (but I'll take any piece of information I can get).

I think Finnforest has been around, not sure about the others.
There are a few from the "old days" that I still miss - Jim Garten, Snow Dog, sigod etc - but I'm still in touch with these guys via Facebook and the occasional prog curry night.

Yeah, I'm glad we're all still in touch on FB at least, not forgetting Dean, I also miss Trouserpress. Remember him? The first time we all met, he was the first to arrive after me. I was propping up the bar on my own, and this guy walked in with long hair, wearing along black coat and trilby hat. He stood next to me at the bar, I was about to say "Are you from PA, mate?" when he turned and I noticed he was also wearing huge badge saying Trouserpress. He was the first person I met who really liked The Cardiacs and Gentle Giant. I believe he was an XTC fan too. Young lad. Linda (Threefates) was another. She was the biggest ELP fan I;d ever known. I think she personally knew Greg Lake. |

Between the ads, Touring test bonanza, dealing with a new kind of teen keyboard warrior music fan as well as talking about the same stuff for years....I can certainly understand why some sought new pastures.
Heck I have been somewhat of a drive-by poster for a couple of years as well - though for my own personal reasons. PA has also changed quite a bit. As far as health goes I hope everyone mentioned above me is doing great. I miss a fair few of those guys too ![]() |

Ah yes, I forgot Dean. I remember meeting you and Trouserpress in that pub. I was looking around for any PA members then saw 2 people sitting a table with a copy of Foxtrot - that gave me a clue! "personally knew Greg Lake" - yep.

The T. Also, Scott (AtomicCrimsonRush). A bunch of prog metallers who used to be prolific here - a collab named Petrov something and of course Mike.

Cesar Inca and his fellow Peruvian Ivan are alive and well, and I often see their posts on Facebook. Regarding Assaf (Avestin), from a Google search I know he's having a successful professional career here in the US, but he still has time for music. His Bandcamp profile is quite active, and he was one of the contributors to the second Krautrock film (I saw his name listed at some point). As to Linda (Threefates), I've seen her on a few occasions at events organized by the NJ Proghouse. She's very good friends with some people I know, and also active on Facebook.

According to his profile he hasn't logged in in over a year (and before the pandemic)...admittedly not as bad as some of the others. But good to know those guys are still alive and well (and living in)! Sigod, in particular, was a good call. Thanks. |

Trouserpress changed his handle to The Hemullen at some point. But cool story!

I seem to remember a Gentle Giant album on the table There was also Chris (Syzygy there that night) and RichardH ============ As for Jim (Finn), I think he's having a difficult time getting over his dad's death, if memory serves. =============== I also miss Trotsky (Martin) and Alucard (Martin) though I see him post at PE. |

Ha!! I was just thinking about those two, The T and AtomicCrimsonRush, especially his very indepth band history blogs like the Genesis one for instance. Was also thinking of QueenByTor, a Rush partner in crime....hopefully she is well also! The BeardedBard, Kati, Hawkwise, SaltyJon, Anaon and TeleStrat (Gary Burks) were regulars on the Vinyl thread....really wondering about TeleStrat, have not seen him around at all. We talked a lot of LP records and I even got him hooked at Steve Hoffman Forums as he would post all his listens there and became quite popular as he had a huge collection. I know he was in his 70's hoping he is well.... And yes there are many not here anymore....

I remember Tony R. Together we stood our ground in the defense of the notorious band Cradle of Filth, asserting that they should be included in the Prog Archives. I was using a different account then, don't remember which.
Yet, Mandrakeroot was the most memorable person on here for me. Edited by Shadowyzard - April 16 2021 at 14:28 |

I'm friends with Syzygy on FB, and he seems to be doing well. Thankfully RichardH is still aroudn these parts at least somewhat. And I do recall Jim's father's passing. I can definitely understand that having a detrimental effect on life overall.
