Hyperbole asside i find the Turn of a Friendly Card by Alan Parson Project to be the best melody ever. What do you think is the best melody ever... Why i think the Turn of a Friendly Card is becouse the vocal melody and the guitar and piano melody is woven so well together. Managing the pastoral and hymn like qualities to sparr very well. Aslo has a nice music hall feel, swan like tranquility. And Chris Rainbows vocal is to die for. Everything works in the title track. Best line of Lyrics "But the game never ends when your whole world depends On the turn of a friendly card" -------------

My favourite melody is the guitar solo of King Crimson's The Night Watch. But also the whole song is full of great melodies. Northern Lights - Renaissance springs to mind from the distant past. Carpet of the Sun quite tuneful too! However, if I put my mind to it I could probably think of hundreds, as no doubt you folks could too.
