3 stars The mystery with Braen's Machine continued in 1973, when this ghost-group released a second album on the Liutio label under the title ''Temi ritmici e dinamici''.This fact alone though gives an even more certain impression that the man behind this group was Piero Umiliani along with his colleague Alessandro Alessandroni.Reputedly the album was pressed in a very limited number of copies, some speak about less or around 100 ones.

The rhythmic and dynamic themes the title refers to are actually 12 short, all instrumental pieces with a very smooth sound overall, flirting with a Symphonic Rock aura in the vein of early CAMEL.Most of them combine a consistent rhythm section with really melodic flute parts and various keyboard offerings, as performed on piano, organ, moog synthesizers and harsichord. The music remains extremely melodic throughout the album, characterized by series of light interplays and some evident Classical vibes.A few tracks retain a strong psychedelic feeling, especially when the piano and Hammond organ are both present. The whole atmosphere is trully ethereal and enjoyable, the music is accesible with a focus on highly melodic arrangements and the musicians seem accomplished enough to carry out this optimistic mood, making up a pleasant listening after each spin.Guitars are here quite reduced compared to the group's debut and there is little to remind of ''Underground''.

No further releases appeared under the name of Braen's Machine and ''Temi ritmici e dinamici'' seems to be the swan song of this mysterious act.A very nice, melodic and symphonic-oriented album of the underground Italian Prog scene of the 70's.Recommended at a logical price, as a copy is quite expensive due to the album's rarity.
