3 stars 3.5 stars for sure

Vox Tempus, this totaly unknown prog metal band from early '00 from USA, did a great job on their one and only album released in 2004 named In the eye of time. The music offerd has power , but has aswell lots of smooth and elegant arrangements, all done in pure prog metal tradition (you will not hear any power metal, djent or other elements added here in overall sound), imagine a combination of Fates Warning around Parallels period in instrumental sections with vocals remind me a lot of Queensryche around Empire, the resoult is quite solid most of the time. Add some top keyboards on guitar-bass parts and you have a really nice prog metal release, and I forget to mention on drums is the famous Gregg Bissonette, the brother of even more famous Matt Bissonette. So, even the album got some rave reviews in that period with the band participation of Prog Power festival in 2004, Vox Tempus disbanded a couple of years later. Sadly, this is the only document left by the band, but I think fans of prog metal must hear this one out, one of the better albums in this field from last decade. Everything is done with good taste and has plenty memorable parts.3.5 stars for sure, recommended. Nice art work, at least for me.
