4 stars I don`t have this five DVD package, but this series of biographic videos divided in chapters (not done by people related to The Beatles) was broadcasted at least three different times on Mexican TV. I never watched to the whole series until it was broadcasted again in 2007 (and I recorded them on a videocassette, without the intention to sold it, of course).

This is another unofficial biography of The Beatles, but I think that it is very well done, and maybe it complements the official "The Beatles Anthology" video biography series very well, because if the "Anthology" reflects very well their history from the point of view of The Beatles themselves and some of their associates (Neil Aspinall, George Martin), this "A Long and Winding Road" was done with a lot of information with interviews done with other people closely associated with the band: Julia Baird (Lennon`s half-sister, who also wrote a book about Lennon), members of The Quarrymen, the band`s personal chauffeur (whose first name is Ed, but I can`t remember his surname now, but he also wrote books about his experiences with the band), Tony Sheridan, Alan Williams (a promoter who worked with them in their early years and still proclaims himself to be their first manager, but he wasn`t considered as such by the band and others), Allistair Taylor (Brian Epstein`s assistant), some friends from their Hamburg days, school friends, musicians who worked with them or knew them, etc. The series also show historic photographs and video, and audio and video interviews with the band members and Brian Epstein. But being an unofficial biography, it seems that they didn`t have the rights to use the music of the band in this series (with the probable exception of using fragements from their recording sessions with Tony Sheridan). The rest of the music is similar to the music done by the band, with very good imitations of their sound and style. But as a docummentary, it is very interesting and I think that it could be a very good buy for any Beatles fan.
