SPECIAL COLLABORATOR Honorary Collaborator
3 stars First album from Terje Rypdal collaborations with another Norwegian guitarist Ronni Le Tekrų (mostly known by his hard-rock band TNT). Whenever Rypdal is known by his jazz fusion with many influences (from new age to instrumental rock), Ronni Le Tekrų is more classic hard rock guitar hero. So,their common project predictably is strongly rock-oriented.

Mostly instrumental compositions, some songs have Ronni Le Tekrų vocals. Two guitarists play quite lightweight guitar music, which could be named as guitar rock with jazz-rock elements. Rypdal has his characteristic, ECM influenced, cool and airy guitar sound. Interesting, that even hard rock guitarist participation didn't change radically sound of the recording. If you will easily find more guitar rock components, all music is still very airy.

Compositions have structural complexity, coming from jazz ,so even if musicianship itself isn't very technically complex, result music has jazz rock touch.

Possibly, not very interesting work for jazz fusion purists, it could be very attractive album for those with love to instrumental rock, filled with fusion elegance and complexity. Both guitarists will collaborate in few more albums in future.

Quite rare recordings, known and popular in Scandinavia mainly.
