3 stars Sound of Silence is a forgotten progressive metal band from Greece with one album released in 2003 at Sleaszy rider records. Well a good progressive metal album , not far from Dream Theater fame, but with their own twists, also they have a very italian sound being also very near to what Empty Tremor or Madsword done years ago. Not bad at all, complex pieces, lenghty some of them, nice musicianship, good instrumental passages, as must sound a progressive metal album. The sound overall is kinda flat and drag the album little down , but the music is ok towards great. I like the album and from me desearves 3.5 stars, nothing really groundbreaking or fantastic, well played and well arranged. For fans of the band above mentioned this is a good aqusition. Among the best prog metal album I've heared from Greece. Forte pieces, all, not a weak moment here, all are same level and desearve attention.
