4 stars This is the project of Sebastien who produced and write everything this time . This is the second full-length album. Sebastien play all instruments. For someone that has done all the mixing and recording himself, the results are excellent. The guitars and keyboards are not playing at the same time, to give a more live and raw sound. The guitars has many colors and tones in this album. From the opening track we are in the post-rock atmosphere. The way the vocals are use can remind you of Radiohead, we can't hear clearly the words, but often the singing is use like a melodic instrument with the music. However we are not always in a Post-Rock style, some big Metal riffs sometimes similar to Porcupine Tree are heard throughout this cd. There is some melancholic passages, and also some strange passages, especially with some keyboards lines. The compositions are somewhat complex , but the slow pace of the songs let you absorb the melody that is most of the times intense almost ready to explode and when it does with a loud blast of guitars, it get back to some quieter atmosphere. There some tasty bass lines break to complete this very well produced album. This is a beautiful "Flood of Strange Sensations"...

4 stars Very different, well-produced, vocal-oriented Post Rock from Sebastian, a one-man band from France. The overall heavy mood of the album's music lends it a feeling of something new in the world of Post Rock. FIELDS OF NEPHILIM meets KEVIN SHIELDS and PERRY and JAMES BLAKE.

Favorite songs: the subtly shifting construction and masterful vocal of 7. "Neverland" (4:49) (9/10); the deeply emotional and slowly building 3. "Once Upon a Tree" (5:43) (9/10); 5. "Endless Nights" (4:54) with its great guitar chord progressions and surprisingly bare end (9/10); the awesome lead guitar work on 8. "Favourite Doll" (4:56) (8/10), and; the beautiful 9. "Thoughts in the Water" (5:59) (8/10).

A solid four star album; recommended to all prog music lovers.

4 stars A Flood Of Strange Sensations album combines everything from art rock to post rock. Sebastian presents very melodic music twisted just enough to make it feel foreign and strange. Musically, it is misleading at first. It seems straight forward but after a few listens, you discover there's a lot ... (read more)
