3 stars "Rare Trax" is an compilation that features rare Meshuggah material from 1989-2000, though it's mostly for hardcore Meshuggah fans. The most interesting about this compilation is that the first Meshuggah EP, "Psykisk Testbild", is featured on it (Tracks 2-4), and also some early "Contradictions Collapse" era demo's (Tracks 7-8).

The other stuff is not that important, but still quite good. The MPEG music video of "New Millennium Cynaid Christ" is excellent, but the tour and studio clips are just stupid...in a completely hilarious way, though it doesn't make much sense if don't understand Swedish.

Overall: This compilation is for Mesuggah fans who are very familiar with them and not only causual fans. The tracks are good, though sometimes weak. Overall: 3.5 stars.

2 stars More or less a biography of Meshuggah, and some rarely heard tracks that never made it on a studio album. This is not where I would start someone interested in Meshuggah. This is an album that only fans of the band would appreciate, and contains quite little prog in it. A very good listen for those who enjoy the band and want some different material, but it's not anywhere close as a mainstay of progressive music.
