Noesis biography
Noēsis is a progressive rock band based in Quebec city, Canada. Our main influences are PINK FLOYD, SYSTEM OF DOWN, MASTODON, DREAM THEATER, PORCUPINE TREE, MUSE and classical music. Our first studio album, "The Current", has been officially released on 08/26/16 and is both available for digital and physical purchase on our official bandcamp website ! Drifting between a more raw "Rock/metal" sound and a more progressive and nostalgic vibe, "The Current" is surely an interesting and original album for both rock/metal and prog rock fans.

4 stars Tis band doesn't bring anything really new in the Prog Metal world, but they managed to craft some solid songs by absorbing all their influences to create a very good album. "The Prey" is showing an obvious Dream Theater influences on the electric side and some Opeth acoustic style in the middle of the song with a mix of death and clean vocals. We'll have this transition of acoustic to electric throughout the album. There is also some Karl Groom of Threshold guitar sound in the song "Post Mortem Illness" and "Raging Hell". This latter song will remind you of Metallica. The songs "The Things called consciousness" and "Until the Sun" are the quietest songs of the album. If the guitars are the highlight of the album, the good production of this album let you enjoy some interesting bass parts. I really enjoyed the flow of this album from the heavy to the light that let you digest this 70 minutes album.
Thanks to rdtprog for the artist addition.
