2 stars A German obscurity SHANNONDOA had momentarily been active around 1972 as a one-off project for launching only one ep. It's said this project might be another incarnation of Christian Anders but who knows ... "Dies Irae / Shannondoa's Traum" can be kinda "lost gem" in Krautrock scene (there's not enough progressive essence nor innovative elements though). Via the former track we can hear depressed, collapsed eerie darkness featuring crazy, bizarre narrations all around. Just like the sleeve, tragic and fatal moments are existing here and there solemnly. The latter one is drenched in serious disquietude, even along musical calmness and stability. I wish the project had released a full-length album, and at the same time, guess he / they could have exploded just a moment only for an ep. Cannot recommend for all Krautrock fans but let me say what an impressive stuff.

3 stars This weird, proggy doom krautrock collective only released two singles in their entire career but believe me this cult, long time lost musical artefact is pretty great. Shanandoa delivers a mysterious, gothic-like fuzzy spaced out trip, including plaintive funeral chorals, narratives and psych-rockin' guitars in a really good vibe. I reveals the dark side of krautrock with reminiscence to garage, ritualistic dark voyages from Sand, Paternoster, Vinegar...Shannondoa is a suprisingly trip out mix of lugubrious fuzzy-kraut pieces, ultimately haunting and definitely recommened to all kraut-heads. I would like to hear more from them but apparently the band have passed from life to death too rapidly.
Thanks to ProgLucky for the artist addition.
