Enter Twilight biography
ENTER TWILIGHT is a progressive metal band from Melbourne, Australia that began life as a gothic metal band in 1997 before changing its sound towards a more melodic, progressive metal style as the band experimented and various band members came and went. There is a good level of diversity in the band's output, as would be expected with members of ENTER TWILIGHT listing among their influences such bands as LED ZEPPELIN, PINK FLOYD, NIGHTWISH, THE GATHERING, EVERGREY, FATES WARNING and QUEENSRYCHE.

Looking back to June of 1997, guitarist Damir Sisak and singer Lidia Szymczak meet up through a shared passion for experimenting with music and the first thread of the ENTER TWILIGHT fabric is sewn. Add to this initial pairing the drums of Darren Borg, Teddie Dee (from the band SUPREMACY) on bass, John Perone on guitar, and Samuel Vieck on keys, and the first line-up is complete.

This original line-up begins writing and rehearsing, with the ENTER TWILIGHT sound beginning to evolve: melodic, with emotional moods and progressive arrangements that cross a number of metal styles. Towards the end of 1997 the first demos are recorded, which are followed by the first change of band members with Vieck moving on and Jenny Farrugia taking over as keyboardist.

1998 and 1999 saw more changes of band members: Richie Hausberger joins on guitar in April of 1998, having an immediate effect on the band's sound; in March 1999 Robert Laghi enters as bass player; a short while later both Jenny Farrugia and founding drummer Darren Borg depart, leaving ENTER TWILIGHT searching for replacements.

To allow the band to continue working friend and graphic artist, Daz Zammit, takes over the skins on a temporary basis. In 2000 a new keyboardist is found in the guise of Leigh Askew - again ENTER TWILIGHT has its full complement of six members. More hard work ensues as the band prepares for its debut album; again ENTER TWILIGHT is hampered as Zammit takes his leave to pursue other musical options.

The void left by Zammit was soon filled by talented drummer John Wauchope and once more ENTER TWILIGHT is complete. Wauchope gave the band stability and added his touch to the ever changing sound.

With a number of successful live performances in the bag, and a new stability in the line-up ENTER TWILIGHT moves into the studio to begin recording the debut album "The Inner Verse". This is 2001. The album would take some four years to get to the release stag...

3 stars 3.5 realy

Enter Twilight is an australian symphonic/prog metal band with one album in their pockets so far named The inner verse released in 2005. The band is totaly unknown here and elsewhere aswell, the fans of the genre mentioned above don't even know about their existence and to tell the truth the album is pretty good overall. No wonder here, I'm the first reviewer of this album after many years of inclusion here in PA. So, musicaly speaking Enter Twilight is ok, even great in places, symphonic metal combined with progressive metal elements here and there make from this first album a winner. The female vocalist Lidia Szymczak add a nice vocal arrangements and overall is a pleasent journey if you like this kind of music. The pieces are long eneough with spacey atmosphere, symphonic meets prog arrangements, some of them truly great just check out Soul tears, great, the guitar is awesome and the keybords aswell. Nice effort by this australians , it's a shame that they are unkown to larger public. They remind me in places with bands like Vision of Atlantis, Edenbridge or Headline. 3 stars, good in places great but not realy something spectacular, only good to listen from time to time. Nice cover art goes well with the music.

Thanks to T.Rox for the artist addition.
