3 stars Vurtula, an unknown progressive metal band from Italy, with one album released in 2003 named S.T.R.U. Mentale. Band formed around 2001 in Turin with Max Clara - vocals, Ivan Calvo - guitars, Marco Varda - keyboards, Emanuele Ferrari - bass, and Simone Costa - drums.

As name imply this is an instrumental album, and a fairly good one but yet quite short in lenght only 33 min, almost like an EP in these days. Very nice duelings between guitars and keyboards.

Not very much is known about this obscure band, I had hard time finding it, but finaly got it and I'm glad I deed. Well performed prog metal.

Forte pieces, Sorvolando la Valle or Geometrie Non Euclidee.

3.5 stars for sure.
