Kick The Cat Jazz Rock/Fusion

Review by Ovidiu

4 stars Hey!!KICK THE CAT-whaaaat a funny name!!!-is a relatively new American band composed of extremelly talented musicians and SCRAMBLE is a very fresh album of jazz rock fusion in the vein of TRIBAL TECH-MAHAVISHNU -or RETURN TO FOREVER!Of course ,all the bands mentioned before are true icons of the genre, but the high level of musicianship of KICK THE CAT can give us the right to compare them with the icons of jazz fusion that I spoke about! Musically speaking, the album has more then one hour of rhythmed and sycopated songs in which all the members of the band are exposing their huge talent, not to be ridicously demonstrative-let's say -they are just efficient!Production is top and every instrument has his precise role to make a very delicious musical mayonnaise,in which we have all the ingredients to make a pleasant diggestion of something of excellent high quality! There is,definitelly a strong alchemy, chemistry between the heavenly gifted musicians in KICK THE CAT-all are true aces, and their music is destined to be played life,it has a 100 % live vibe and I am sure their concerts are a blast! The final track is giving the listeners the feeling and imagination what it is happening during a live concert of the guys!Difficult to mention a particular song, all are very strong, and the whole album is monolithic in it's structure,a good balance between uptempo songs and the midtempo ones!Sometimes the guys are becoming really furious in their musical display-and that's good-they deliver some kind of an aggressive fusion rock and I like it!!!It really souns excellent and all fans of modern fusion will adore this extremelly tanetted band!4 well deserved stars for a very muscled album of modern fusion!
Thanks to snobb for the artist addition.
