Video-Aventures biography
VIDÉO-AVENTURES were founded as a French electro-avantgarde combo with phantasmagoric musical collaborators around Dominique GRIMAUD and Monique ALBA after their another project named Camizole disbanded in 1978. They had been confined in studio apparently influenced by other French experimental / avantgarde pioneers like Lard Free, Art Zoyd, ZNR, or Heldon, for releasing three conceptual albums, and been disbanded in 1984.

"Oscillations" featuring seventeen electronic pieces recorded between 1979 and 1984 was released in 2011 via Musea / Gazul Records, that could shed the sunshine onto VIDÉO-AVENTURES again.

Review by mhiraldo

4 stars Although accompanied by avant gardist musicians from the french scene at that time, the main focus is the synth / keys playing of Grimaud and Alba. This is no battle for the fastest solo, or majestic 10 keyboards at a time symphonic fest. This is moody, textural, personal, sometimes subtle and melodic, and others harsh, experimental and certainly Prog a la french. Almost always with a minimalistic attitude on how the pieces are approached. If you like the analog sounds of some of the more ambient/sparse inventors of the 70s like Cluster, Eno or ZNR you'll be at home with these Videos. Not that they sound like these mentioned artist but they somehow belong in the same 'musical category'.

This is part of a very interesting collection of French underground/experimental/prog on the Gazul label (by Musea) called Les Zuto Pistes, gathered by Grimaud himself. Recommended.

Thanks to DamoXt7942 for the artist addition.
