Yes, I know. I lended it to a friend (violinist) who was really not into them (Genesis was his only cup of tea) and it totaly converted him into a raving flowerhead in one week. Almost scary .

It's nice to know that not every Genesis fan considers the Flower Kings to be 70s prog rip offs.
Edit: Being a violinist, he must have appreciated the discipline of the musicians involved.

That's what kept him interested the first watch, so the music itself had the chance to take over his brain unnoticed . Strangely enough, though, my efforts to get him into Yes after this have yet to succeed. He could not dig CTTE, apart from the musicianship. Any suggestions?

Maybe the vocals annoy him ... they are a little sloppy, slightly off pitch. That's something that only trained musicians (especially those playing fretless instruments - like violins) recognize. Maybe you can interest him in one of their newer recordings of the song ... it's a little far fetch, though. Maybe he just doesn't like them, and you can't argue about taste.

Although the Flower Kings sound a bit like Yes and Genesis sometimes, its not suprising. After all that is what has gone before. The Flower kings, besides this have their own unique sound which is a combination of many things!
Does that make sense?

I happen to agree with you Sir Hogweed. Taste is a very subjective and personal thing. I wish more people on this site would "live and let live" rather than "trash or be trashed" when it comes time to write in these forums.

I had my own problems with Anderson's voice but i've learned to live with it. The violinist is not converted to Yes yet, so I guess he just doesn't like it, which is ok by me. I am planning to force feed him Awaken for a last chance (he's much more into Mozart than Stravinsky), then I will give up and we just continue our high profile music discussions, concerning other stuff.
