Follow you follow me!

If misunderstanding were on here than I would definately choose that, but FYFM is the reason for lots of genesis hate!

Sometimes a song comes along at a point in time that it seems totally relevant to whats going in my life and had it come along at another point in time I may not have felt the same way about it..  I`m a minority that for some some unexplained reason "Your Own Special Way" came along at a special time making it a special song for me and probably me alone.  I`m a firm believer that the songs true feelings must emanate and I put prog elements secondary at times if the song has feeling  and yes some love songs have substance  as love is such a wide array of human emotion we all get swept up in.
I`m a little disappointed  "Your Own Special Way" is on the list but that's they way the cookie crumbles   Tongue

Where is Just a Job?! They play that steaming pile of rubbish everyday on classic rock radio stations.

Absolutely.  Illegal Alien is horrible, and not even in a so-bad-it's-funny way.  I am quite far from fond of a couple of others, notably I Can't Dance and In Too Deep (I thought the latter was a solo Collins song for a very long time), but Illegal Alien is the only one that is offensive and completely unlistenable.

Wot Gorilla kicks ass, I'll vote for Invisible Touch. Ever work at a place that plays "classic rock" all day ?

Ermm I don't know all of their newer stuff (don't know the last six songs listed), but I honestly can't think of any Genesis track that I strongly dislike -- let alone "hate."

(You see, I think that when they wrote pop songs, they were mostly rather good pop songs -- though some were just "okay.")

Even at their "worst," they're still better than most of what I hear on the radio these days!Stern%20Smile

It makes me sad to see this. Even the Phil-led Genesis, (and the Ray Wilson incarnation, for that matter) still managed to put together some very complex poppy songs. Though they may not be at the level of The Knife or Supper's Ready, they are still good songs, but popular music standards, and even by my standards (which are very high). It seems there is a lot of complaining going on here and very little support.
Prog... It's good.

Are you out of your freaking mind?  Why the hell wasn't Misunderstanding included?  For shame, for shame!!!!

As lower quality Geneis songs go More Fool Me and Whodunnit aren't all that bad.  I was liking Follow You Follow Me a lot on the radio before I became a zombie prog person.

i agree with you completely, but i don't think we should mention that on this thread, because then there will be a huge argument and eventually someone will threaten phil collins life, and we don't need that, so let's just skip all that
