Topic: Not so popular Yessongs poll Posted: March 25 2018 at 03:53 |
One song from every Yes studio album, except Close to the Edge, because all of it´s songs are really not un popular. I have found all of these great, mostly I choose here the prog ones from the albums, but not all. I choose to myself Looking Around, it has been a long one of my big favourites. You can pick your favourite although not heard these all.

The Remembering

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

The Remembering (my favourite Yes song, period), followed by Endless Dream and Machine Messiah. Plenty of other good tracks in here, though, like Looking Around, A Venture, New Language, etc.

"Parallels" and "Machine Messiah" are not, IMO, lesser-rated Yessongs. They rank as favorites among quite a few fans.
I'd vote for one or both of those, but I'm going to pretend they're not in the poll.
For a "less popular" song: "That, That Is."

I guess you can say the same also to "the Remembering" & "To be Over". Anyway these all really aren´t as popular as "Yours is no disgrace" or "Roundabout". I wanted to take one song from every album, except Close to the Edge, because all the songs in that album are just so popular. In "Going For the One" the least popular ones are "Turn Of the Century" & "Parallels", I chose the last one, because Yes has played it live (at least it´s not on their livealbums) last time in the seventies. Same "criteria" with Machine Messiah, they haven´t played whole Drama material until last few years. Didn´t want to pick any other song from Drama, because I think the greatest ones in that album is that and Tempus Fugit and I think Tempus is more popular than Machine.
Anyway really great you choose That, That is, it´s really great long piece from Yes!

on the theme of missing choices... much more so than The Remembering.. I would have chosen The Ancient.
The most divisive track on their most divisive album. As I've often said.. when you get the briliance of the Ancient.. you get the brilliance of the album. Those who don't.. simply don't...
