Not sure how many people here new him but Uncle Norm of the Midwest Gang who attended many Nearfests, ROSfests & ProgDays died today of cancer. A warmhearted individual with many many friends who always made everyone welcome.

He will be missed.

RIP, legendary person. I remember Ray Manzarek mentioned him (among other poets of the era) in his memoirs.

RIP Beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti, died today at 101 years old. In addition to being a poet, he was also a publisher of note, releasing the 1st edition of Allen Ginsberg's Howl, which got him thrown in jail in 1957 for publishing obscene material. You know, the sort of stuff you and your family can watch on cable nightly.

More importantly, he was the template for Homey De Clown. RIP Bozo.
This message was brought to you by a proud supporter of the Deep State.

According to the article, Bozo was sort of a franchise.  The owner/creator sold the concept of Bozo to various television markets and it seems as though they each created their own unique shows based on this character.  It was actually kind of an interesting article to read if you have the time.

I shared the article in case any one is interested because there is a connection to Frank Zappa and the Mothers that I thought was kind of cool.
I remember watching Bozo as a kid in So Cal early 70's, was there only one or was the show syndicated??

To paraphrase Robert Louis Stevenson (who was actually referring to Matthew Arnold):

Very sad, lovely lady, great voice.. ive always had a real soft spot for Motown; Great Harmonies, Arrangements and real richness of sound.. and that Bass.. I know Chris Squire was really influenced by those Motown session bassists.. i think a lot more of its influence crept into early/Proto- Progressive and Psych than is often given credit.
RIP Mary x
the holy trinity of the funk brothers, James Jamersen and Bob Babbitt, but also great Carol Kay (dont know if she had connection to Motown ) but Squire have namedropped her.

And R.IP to Wilson, the importance of the Supremes and vocal harmonies, they sat a high standard which very few could follow up on.
