Nope. It doesn't have Hackett, so I'm not particularly interested just like I wasn't interested in Trespass or anything post-Wind & Wuthering.

That's the problem with ratings here. 10/10 For their debut? So you would give it 5 stars and call it an essential prog masterpiece because you think a forgettable, lame album deserves a bit more credit?

Let's be realistic here..

Apart from one person who gave it 10/10 and one who called it "pop perfection"?

I gave it 10/10, and for the "pop perfection" one, it still didn't reach their top 10. Just thought it deserves a bit more credit Smile

It was made by a bunch of snotty nosed, spotty school kids. A bunch of snotty nosed, spotty, English public school kids, at that.

They made an album of Bee Gee sounding pop rock songs to impress school old boy Jonathan King, who had had a massive hit record.

To Revelation was really no more than that.

School kids or not, some great songs on there Tongue What about "In The Wilderness" or "In Hiding"? Not a fan? Smile

Love them all except CAS and FGTR but would rank them something along the lines of:

1. Lamb
2. Foxtrot
3. Trespass
4. Selling England
5. Abacab
6. A Trick of the Tail
7. Nursery Cryme
8. Duke
9. Genesis
10. Wind and Wuthering
11. Invisible Touch
12. And then there were three...
13. We Can't Dance
14. From Genesis to Revelation
15. Calling All Stations

It didn't take much for a bunch of young boys to impress that massive tit Jonathan King.

Not sure I've done this before.  But I generally like all the Genesis albums so this may be tough

1. Lamb
2. Selling England
3. Foxtrot
4. Trespass
5. Trick
6. Abacab
7. And Then There...
8. Genesis
9. Duke
10. Nursery
11. Wind
12. Invisible
13. FGTR
14. We Can't Dance
15. Calling

The ones on the bottom half of the list are still good albums (with the exception of maybe Calling, but even that is growing on me), but they rank lower because they contain a higher % of songs that I'm not particularly excited about.  Wind and Wuthering, for example:  I love the first track and the last three - but everything in between is stuff I often skip over.  And as for "And Then There Were Three", my favorite songs on that one are among my all time favorite Genesis tracks... but the others are just okay.

Just pre-empting against any "No Love for ____?" claims.  They're Genesis, and I love them.

Here are the albums I do like by Genesis:

EVERYTHING from Nursery Cryme through Wind & Wuthering. Now the tricky part of all of this is trying to get these albums into some kind of order...

This may take me awhile. Big smile
