"Story of I" is a good starting point. It takes some time to a full comprehension but isn’t that great? |

A curiosity for Moraz fans: did you know he played with a brazillian band from seventies called Vimana ? They would play as a new band, but some troubles appeared, and their project failled. More informations in allmusic: http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=Bkukqikp0bb29 and Vimana website: http://bandavimana.cjb.net/ (in portugueses language) PS.: you can download (mp3) Vimana songs: just click on Discografia / Ouvir. Some songs are sung in english, others in portuguese. Just check it: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=10440& amp; amp;KW=patrick+moraz

Refugee was a short lived but very impressive symphonic rock group.Moraz practically blows the opposition away in one fail swoop and is well backed by a solid rythym section in ex Nice players Davison and Jackson.Sadly Moraz was tempted away by Yes although we did get Gates Of Delirium as a result so I shouldn't complain!

The story of I is by far his best Album. If you look at the reviews (even on other sites) you will see that. He made it around the time he was in yes (even performed some songs of this album in one of the best shows yes Ever did), so he was at his musical peek.
Enjoy listening, |

I agree wholeheartedly. BTW, are we talking about the same album (Flags)? |

Ugh! Can't stand that album. I got rid of it as fast as I possibly could (I'm not capable of moving at the speed of light, yet, you know). Moraz is a very talented man, of that there is no doubt. However, as a solo artist, the guy just chafes. Refugee, Yes, Squire's Fish Out Of Water, and as one half of Bruford/Moraz, the guy's just brilliant. Kicks major ass. His entire solo discography, OTOH, is peppered by some of the WORST crap I've ever heard. And people bag on Wakeman's solo stuff? Take a listen to TimeCode and tell me that's not garbage! My advice: get everything with Moraz as a SIDEMAN. Ignore everything with Moraz as LEADER. |

If u like Brazilian calypso-sh*t, then go ahead with Story of I. IMO he hasn't done one single good solo-album but his two albums with Bill Bruford are great, just great!!!
