Is it really a competition?

This is the answer.
Maybe include "A change fo seasons", the last Kevin Moore composition for DT (played by Derek Sherinian in that album)

ACOS is possibly their best "epic" song, to me it's the only one that consistently keeps the seriousness and lyrical depth, plus it's cohesive and flows well. ITPOE, is also very good and the only track/s on Systematic Chaos I give a damn about.

But really, Devin is known to constantly shift the ball-park (granted not recently, besides Casualties), he's not as prone to stay in a pigeonhole Smile

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Dream Theater by about a million light years.
Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

I'm not sure if it's just me but as a former Dream Theater nerd (at one point), those 4 original DTP albums have more variety than Dream Theater's entire career Shocked

Dream Theater for me... even though lately I have been more interested in Devin Townsend, and I believe he is more likely to release great music than Dream Theater is capable of doing ringht now. However, because of their best moments, I go with Dream Theater.

Dream Theater used to be one of my favourite bands, but as for the last few years they've done such a marvellous job of deconstructing themselves, it's just got to be Devy, who's going from strength to strength.

Dream Theater

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

Devin... by far my favorite artist right now Smile
Twirling round with this familiar parable.
Spinning, weaving round each new experience.
Recognize this as a holy gift and celebrate this
