I choose You because of the slightly lesser goofiness.

I hopped on with You.  Quite few years before I got the Angel's Egg.  Still need to fly around on that teapot someday.  I have been on the fourth volume of the trilogy though.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I voted for YOU, but these albums do belong together, and when you've had them in your collection a couple of years and heard them in succession - they feel more like the trilogy they were supposed to, than 3 albums released after each other.
Have a cup of tea? Why thank you very much.

(For some reason I can't vote on the poll.)

You gotta have at least 40 posts, I think. At least that's how it was for me a year ago. Maybe the admins changed it up.

Oh, Thanks.
Well I guess that makes sense.

Anyways.
I am starting to change my mind back to You.
They are all brilliant albums IMO.

You slightly over Angel's Egg, brilliant albums both of them. Teapot is excellent as well but not among my very favorite Gong albums.

This, except Teapot is one of my favorite Gong albums. I like Egg and You almost the same (they could've been a fine double album) but You was my introduction to Gong and Canterbury in general, so it has some additional sentimental value.Tongue

Man, only if You and Angel's Egg was created into a double album. That would be one of the greatest double albums in history. ApproveThumbs Up

overall, voted Angel's because it has more songs that I love, and my favourite Gong song

Yeah, I agree. Flying Teapot has that quite whimsical, eccentric, classic Gong style that is obviously evident on that album and albums that were previous and after. Angel's Egg is a lot more Fusion influenced and, like you said, rockier. You is probably my favourite because it's probably their most atmospheric and jammy album out of the trilogy.
