Roth.

Hagar has an excellent voice but nowhere near the showmanship of the Roth-era.

So here I am once more

Wow, you just described both of my brothers!  And both of them are the only people I personally know who actually own Sammy Hagar solo albums (and I know they both at least have 5150 too).

Roth in a landslide.  Van Halen really kind of annoys me, but I saw them live back in the 70's and Roth does put on a good show, that's for sure.

The Gigolo! I am not a fan of the Hagar-era albums at all. Now, the debut album & especially Fair Warning (the closest to "proggy" they every got by the way )...different story.

I don't really like Van Halen at all, but Roth is a lot cooler than Sammy Hagar.  God I hate Sammy Hagar.

Diamond is a 100% pure conceited asshole (made from concentrated pure dickhead fruits and with added pulp) but he is the Van Halen frontman.

Hagar pales in comparison. That debut album is flawless. an all-time classic: every track is a gem.

Roth unfortuneatly has one of those voices that I absolutely detest  and 'California Girls'.....? What the f**k was he trying to achieve when he sang that? It's the biggest balls up of a cover song ever!!!!!!!!

Hagar is in a far higher league and Van Halen released their best albums with him in the band!
