The Who 3 Disk DVD

Just bought The Who 3 DVD including Tommy, Quadrophenia and Live at Universal Anphitheatre, simply amazing.

A must have.

With guests as Elton John, Steve Winwood, Billy Idol (The perfect Cousin Kevin) Patti La Bell and Phil Collins (Who does a good version of Uncle Earnie,good but a bit over played, Keith Moon was amazing in the movie).

Have it since 8:00 PM and haven't seen Quadrophenia yet (My sister is sleeping here because she's painting her apartment and my  nephew  used my room to see Barney ). Probably will sleep a couple of hours because from here to see the DVD  or I'll take it to my office, no job expected being Holy Weekend.

But Tommy is outstanding, probably the best I've seen it's a very solid performance,

The Live performance at Universal Anphitheatre is very good, still I miss listening Baba O'Rylley with violin instead of harmonica.

Tommy is from the 1989 tour and Quadrophenia is from their 1996 tour.

I agree. My only real gripe with Tommy is that they omitted the Underture (which while repetetive, was a really cool song). But Quadrophenia is spectacular, the bass solo from 5'15 stands out in my mind particularly.

That's because Keith Moon taught Zak how to play and Zak was given Keith Moon's  1976 Drumkit, so he got to be Keith Moon without being Keith Moon.

I wa amazed to find the similarities, Zak is as strong as Keith but has more technique (Probably his father taught him some fundaments) but he's ten times more drummer than Ringo. I remember reading in the Keith Moon biography "Moon" last year, that it noted that Zak idolized Moon, and wanted to play just like him. But it would make perfect sense if Ringo at least taught him how to play a simple beat.
