Can I also say (and I know I'm in a minority here) that I really enjoy And Then There Were Three...!!
I LOVE all the albums from Foxtrot onwards, and while I recognise that there a slight feeling of jadedness about ATTWT, and Hackett is sorely missed, there are some good compositions on there - Undertow, Snowbound, Burning Rope - and if only Mike Rutherford could've played lead guitar a little more convincingly (or they'd employed Steve Howe for an afternoon in the studio) this could have been a great album

I picked Foxtrot, but it was hard:
Foxtrot: ****.7
Nursery Cryme: ****.6
The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway: ****.5
Selling England By the Pound: ****.3
Trespass: ****.3
I haven't heard the other two, but as soon as I have, I'm sure they'll be up in that range.

Genesis were my favourite band back in the seventies, and remain my favourite even now. (But only during the seven album period you list above).
Every one of those albums deserves a vote, I love them all. And you will probably find SEBTP and Foxtrot come first and second. But for me, it has always been The Lamb. My fave album of all time in fact! (Second would probably be your choice, Nursery Cryme. I love that too!)
But as I said, all of those on your list are immaculate. You have great taste!
(My favourite cover award goes to A Trick Of The Tail.) :)

You get the best of both Gabriel e.g Foxtrot and Hackett e.g Wind and Wurthering material |
I have to disagree with you there. Phil Collins just can't sing Supper's Ready, and the fantastic flute/guitar-interplay is also lost on this live version.

1. Selling England By The Pound (the best album of all times by any band/artist).
2. Foxtrot (close, but cannot quite match SETBP's conceptually perfection).
3. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (Also fantastic, almost beats Foxtrot, but has no songs that can fully match Supper's Ready).
4. Trespass (actually more pleasing than Nursery Cryme, fantastic guitar solo by Phillips on The Knife).
5. Nursery Cryme (Harold The Barrel points forward to the theatrical style of the 3 next albums, whereas The Musical Box is the highlight of the album. Very good, but cannot match Genesis' later concept albums).
6. A Trick Of The Tail (at this point Genesis has lost its fantastic and unique theatricality, but prove that they still can make beautiful progrock).
7. Wind And Wuthering (almost every bit as good as A Trick...).

Of the Genesis albums I have, my rankings are
1. Foxtrot- Definitely my favorite, and not just because of Supper's Ready
2. Selling England by the Pound-A few weak songs, but still very good
3. Nursery Cryme-Just a tiny bit behind SEBTP, I actually think it's a bit stronger of an album, but I like SEBTP better.
4. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway-This is the only Genesis album I have that I don't love. It just sounds totally different from the other three. I think that all of the short songs sort of put me off. The album seems to focus more on the story than the music, which I don't care too much for. Of course, I haven't listened to it very much or very attentively, so hopefully I'll grow to like it.

I don't think Cinema Show quite lives up to the hype but the rest of the album sure does. =) (Still 5 stars because Cinema Show is great it just goes on a tad bit too long in my opinion)

I'll say the Lamb because I never really absolutely loved Genesis until I listened to that recently.
And I don't really get the worshipping of SEBTP when it seems like the only songs that are absolutely loved on it are "Dancing," "Firth of Fifth," and "Cinema Show."

Yes, Supper's Ready is the best song on Foxtrot but I don't even think that that track is very good... Also I have to give props to Trespass for being better than I at first thought it was (just listened to it again)

I voted Nursery Cryme too, and I agree with you king volta about Foxtrot - but for the opposite reason; apart from Supper's Ready, which I like a lot, I think the album's very lacklustre...

If only one Genesis recording to choose, it would be the live, Seconds Out.
You get the best of both Gabriel e.g Foxtrot and Hackett e.g Wind and Wurthering material
