I searched and didn't find anything, so forgive me if this has been discussed before.
I think this band should be added because they just have very obvious prog elements. Their sound is basically a mix between indie rock and prog. You can listen to some songs on their MySpace here or their entire first EP on their PureVolume site here ("Battesimo Del Fuoco" through to "The River North" -- the first two songs there are from their full length). If you just want to check them out quickly, go for "City Escape" and "The Procession," and maybe "The Inquiry of Ms. Terri." Does anyone else agree...? Edited by Syrinx - October 17 2007 at 01:56 |

The Dear Hunter have been cleared for addition by the Crossover Team, and will be added as soon as possible. Sorry for the delay, but sometimes life gets in the way of people's work on behalf of PA...

Oh yeah, such an awesome band! I discovered them about a week ago! Has this new Indie/Prog genre just taken off recently? Are there any other bands in the same genre?

The Dear Hunter remind me of The Mars Volta in places - have you tried them?

yes I apologize.... as Raff noted...life does a way of getting in the way of things here...
we do have several Xover additions that Dean and I will catch up with. I just haven't been around much, and not really here...even when I was here. Just sort of in the ether so to speak. |

Received the Act II CD this morning. I'm still amazed that a band this good is relatively unknown. One of the best bands I've come across via PA, I can't recommend them highly enough.

I don't know Dear Hunter, but one band I'd describe as Indie/Prog in style are Chest Rockwell. Some tracks on their MySpace page for the curious: http://www.myspace.com/chestrockwell

The Dear Hunter should be number one! This calls for a bit of chart manipulation.

I liked the first part but the vocals got on my nerves- and considering some of what I listen to that's saying a lot. Will try again.

I've been a big fan of the Dear Hunter ever since Casey split off from The Recieving End of Sirens, who have only the slightest prog flavor.
I do think it's impressive to see indie bands that give a nod toward progressive music.
