1. Wrong place for this, try general music discussions.
2. Very yes.

Used to like them a bit, but it's been a few years since I heard them.
Also, as toposfm mentioned, this needs to be moved to general music discussions.

I like two songs - sometimes, and can live without both. As to the rest - I should sue for the loss of my precious time. Nah.

I vote yes. They are one of my favorite bands and I've seen them twice in concert, the second time they co-headlined with Jane's Addiction as well.

The Fragile, despite not being included on PA, is one of my top 5 prog albums of all time. I think it's not included because the body of NIN really only includes 2 prog albums, but The Fragile is very very ambitious. I enjoy all of their work of course, but I could not possibly make an argument for something like With Teeth being prog.

What sub-genre would you put them in? Crossover?

Downward spiral is the most ambitious album I've ever heard, and the concept is my favorite of any album I've ever heard. I love it!
Trent was pretty brutal live too! Never seen seen somoe get that angry on stage... and I go to some pretty extreme shows!

I would agree that things like With Teeth are definately not prog.
But what about all the Ghosts? They're on the verge of being eclectic prog?
I think they should at least be prog-related, for gems like Downward Spiral (which could easily qualify as crossover prog).

I think The Fragile and Downward Spiral may make a decent argument for crossover prog as Roland said, though even as possibly the forum's biggest fan of NIN I'm not holding my breath for them to get in.
That being said, Ghosts I-IV is totally prog.

A bit of a random thought, but I've always been convinced that The Fragile was the sequel to The Downward Spiral (they're both concept albums). Consider how the left and right sides to the fragile start exactly where the downward spiral left off, hurt leads right into somewhat damaged and the day the world went away, or else the way out is through and into the void depending on which side you play first. Agree, disagree?

I presume this is asking whether we like NIN or not? If so then yes, what I've heard I like. I went to see them a couple of years ago at the Manchester Apollo, but ended up not seeing them at all because they had so much dry ice that you literally could not see the band/stage, which totally ruined the show. Pity, because they sounded great but because of this I wouldn't waste my money on going to one of their gigs again.
